I'm Boxing for Cancer Research UK - eeek!

I've decided 2018 will be the year I challenge myself in all sorts of ways, I looked online for my first challenge and discovered ultra white collar boxing, perfect I thought, heres why.... A friend of mine invited me along to his boxing club in 2017 as he knows I enjoy strength training (I'm not so hot on the conditioning side of things...as I discovered...).. I went once.. and within 20 minutes I was outside throwing up (sorry for the detail)...I'm so unfit, I never went again.. seeing this challenge and having the opportunity to raise money for Cancer Research...

Cabot Tower, Bristol. Inspiration for Artists

From time to time we like to take a look at the Bristol icons that inspire our artists and designers and this time it’s the turn of Cabot Tower, situated on Brandon Hill and a feature of many Bristolian memories. Cabot Tower was built in the late 1890s, towards the end of Queen Victoria’s reign, in commemoration of the 400th anniversary of John Cabot’s journey from Bristol to Newfoundland aboard The Matthew (a replica of which is today one of Bristol’s most popular tourist attractions, moored alongside M Shed on Prince Wharf and operating a regular sailing programme). You need only to search for “fox” at thebristolshop.co.uk to realise how much these creatures inspire Bristol’s artists and designers. Often thought of as country animals, foxes actually live in far greater numbers in our cities, with Bristol one of the first areas to be colonised, right back in the 1940s. The numbers did drop in the 1990s when a parasitic disease called sarcoptic mange spread across most of mainland Britain, causing declines in rural and urban colonies alike, but the populations are now recovering.
