Anna Francis is a Bristol-based printmaker. The inspiration for her map illustrations is the Bristol A to Z and local ordnance survey maps. Natural contours, rivers and roads are highlighted, exploring natural and man-made forms.

Anna was born in Derbyshire and after completing a photography degree at Nottingham Trent University went on to study an MA in Interactive Multimedia at Bath Spa University where she began to explore the use of digital drawing. All contour lines in her work are hand drawn digitally before printing.

Although her work began by studying man-made forms within the landscape she is now now primarily inspired by natural contours and the formation of land and water, using maps as a starting point of reference. Her work is a celebration of nature’s raw and delicate beauty.
All of her limited edition giclée fine art prints are produced using pigment based inks and printed on to handmade St Cuthberts Mill 100% cotton paper.
We're very lucky to have a limited edition of 10, of the River Frome Through Bristol, hand-finished in 23.5 carat shell gold, making each one unique.
