Queen Square, located in the very centre of Bristol, will find itself transformed on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th September when Glastonbury favourites Arcadia return to their home city, bringing with them the legendary Spider.

Arcadia's latest show - Metamorphosis - aims to unify a community of all backgrounds, ages, beliefs and ideals through a mesmerising experience. The iconic spider, built in Bristol from 50 tonnes of recycled military hardware, will come alive as a living organism, waking up among the history and tradition of leafy Queen Square to unite sustainable ideas with art and music in a seminal moment of spectacle.

The event, Arcadia's first in a city centre setting, will incorporate innovative music, circus, sculpture, special effects, and recycled biofuel pyrotechnics to create a ground-breaking show. It is one of six projects part funded by Arts Council England's Exceptional Award as part of Bristol's year as European Green Capital and the creative use of recycled materials is very much In keeping with the ethos of that role.

Open each day from 5pm until 11pm, with last entry at 8.30pm, Arcadia will feature a heavyweight line-up of DJs and acts including Bristol's own Roni Size with Raprazent, Congo Natty, Annie Mac, Eats Everything, Monki and Gotsome. For those who want to keep the fire burning until dawn there will also be a series of after parties.
